In our society there will always be irresponsible, sadists and psychopaths, but we breeders are not to blame for that. When you love animal life, and you decide to dedicate yourself to a breed of dog, the thorn of all the abandoned dogs is in your heart, even if you are not at fault. If someone believes that because one has decided to dedicate oneself to a breed of dog, it does not hurt the abandonment, it is that he has an extremely simple vision of life. Not everyone is capable of dedicating themselves to volunteering in a shelter, nor do all shelters prefer volunteers to financial donations.

El Dr. Meen se involucró activamente con los perros de raza pura en 1965 y ha criado y expuesto varias razas bajo su prefijo Kishniga. Su Borzoi de raza casera fue el mejor perro de todas las razas en Canadá en 1977, y crió y fue copropietario del mejor Terrier de Canadá en 2011: un Skye Terrier.
Ex presidente y presidente de la junta del Canadian Kennel Club, participa activamente en muchas organizaciones caninas de Canadá y Estados Unidos, y juzga en todo el mundo. Ha sido juez en Westminster en otras cuatro ocasiones, incluyendo el Grupo Terrier en 2007.
Encabezará un panel de 37 jueces de 17 estados, Canadá e Irlanda que oficiarán en la exposición canina, celebrada en el Madison Square Garden y los muelles 92/94 de Nueva York. El panel incluye 12 jueces que han juzgado Grupos en el pasado, y 14 que juzgan por primera vez en Westminster.
Siete razas podrán participar en Westminster por primera vez en 2016: Lagotto Romagnolo (Grupo Deportivo), Cirneco dell’Ettna (Sabueso), Boerboel (Trabajo), Berger Picard (Pastoreo), Pastor Americano Miniatura (Pastoreo), Bergamasco (Pastoreo) y Perro de Agua Español (Pastoreo). La adición de estas razas hace un total de 199 razas y variedades en competición.
