The park El Chorro de Navafría is a place highly valued by hiking lovers, due to its location and characteristics. This natural area belonging to the Community of Villa y Tierra de Pedraza is located just over 30 kilometers from Segovia and less than an hour from Madrid and Valladolid, in the heart of the Sierra de Guadarrama and in the heart of a lush pine forest of Scots pine.
From the bar-restaurant El Chorro there are different hiking trails of varying degrees of difficulty and with the obligatory stop at the waterfall of El Chorro, a natural waterfall of more than 20 meters. In the pine forest and a short distance from the restaurant El Chorro there are other hidden treasures such as the Pozo Verde, with its own legend, or Las Charcas.
The routes offer the enjoyment of the nature of the Central System and are ideal for bird watching. The distances of the hiking trails in El Chorro vary from a few kilometers to the longest, which reach the peak of Nevero (2,214 m), where the stream that gives its name to the park rises.

Route through a very wooded area full of the majestic pine of the Sierra de Guadarrama, also known as Valsaín or Silvestre, the most significant tree is the Yew, hence this area is known as the Tejera de Navafría, tree that was used by Don Pelayo to inflict the first defeat to the Arab cavalry that was in the Picos de Europa.
And finally we arrive at the awaited Chorro de Navafría, an impressive waterfall of more than 20 meters high formed by the descent of the Chorro stream, which comes from the waters of the Cega River. This Chorro takes the form of a ramp. It was undoubtedly an ideal moment to take advantage of those cameras that we all carried and thus be able to preserve its natural beauty forever.
